I gave up on that fond thought about 2,500 posts ago. Just let it be and don't read it; it'll die eventually...

Be patient. Eventually every participant in the thread will be on all the other participants' IGNORE lists, and at that point the thread will stop.

Meanwhile, just ignore it and focus on electronics. Life is good.

 

I agree @spinnaker . I just ignore it and every once in a while it drops to the second page of New Postd

Frankly, I find the occasional political threads way, WAY less irritating than the frequent requests for help with schoolwork that are posted in subforums other than Homework Help-- especially those in which the TS simply wants us to work the problem for him and spoonfeed him the answer.

Good point. I think I actually saw it do that a couple weeks ago.

It was removed from my Watched Threads a while ago!

I have removed all threads from the "watched" mode. Nothing is that damm important for me to receive emails. I can open the ones I want to see daily on an individual basis. Then again, I rarely visit more than the Education and Off topic areas. I don't see the same as OBW, because the only time I see them is in the homework. Then of course, there's the visits to a few other forums, about four of them daily.

On the occasional visits into the other areas, I have reported a thread or two that belongs in the homework section.
