    Hi,

I have a custom wound transformer core that I found from some surplus store. I see that the secondary voltage is saturating when I hook it up. Will adding and air gap reduce those effects?

    Thanks

well cant say for sure but the general view is that it will help ,i think this is so since flux reduces as reluctance increases.

your question is quite vague. you didn't mention what is your primary and secondary voltage. the current that your secondary has to supply. the wire size you have used. the primary voltage frequency. maybe if you can suply this info then we can do something about it.
