    Hi everyone.

I am making a couple of graphs in Excel, of temperature vs altitude. However, whilst the y axis is nice and neat, the x axis is a jumble of odd numbers - I presume it is taking them from the data.

Is there a way to change the x axis so the numbers are neater? Like 500, 1000, 1500 etc?

    Many thanks for your time.

Yup, in the axis properties there is a checkbox or something like that for separating the number format of the axis labels from that of the data. You could also change the placement of the x-axis on the y-axis, if you like.

For your data, a log x-axis might be useful as well.
