How to use ADC0804 as 4bit ADC. I heard that by changing the reference voltage the output of full scale input can be made as 4bit. But how to change the refernce voltage and how much should i change?

 

If you want only four bits, just use the four most-significant-bits (MSB) of that 8-bit converter. No need to change the reference voltage .
