I have a humidifier that the output to the water solenoid is 52 volts ac, while the solenoid is only 24 volts ac. I dont want to replace the circuit board on the unit. Can I use a 110 to 24 volt ac transformer to lower the voltage to the solenoid. Is there any other thing i could do? Thanks

Why is the output to the solenoid 52Vac when the solenoid is only 24Vac?

I dont know. I think the previous owner might have ordered the wrong voltage solenoid. I've been checking into the unit info . I think it calls for a 110 volt solenoid.

If you can determine the current required by the 24V solenoid, then you can add a resistor or capacitor in series to reduce the voltage.
