    A battery that charges itself.

    Better yet, a solar cell; as it generates current with input from the sun.

    Doesn't make sense to me to have a current source and a voltage source in parallel.

    Well, an ideal voltage source has zero impedance, and an ideal current source has infinite impedance, so whatever the voltage source was set to would be the output from that parallel network.

    So, just a voltage source in series with a resistor.
