Probably easier to buy.

But consider:-
How much current will it have to carry?
What frequency will it work at?
Does the DC resistance matter?
For iron or ferrite cores - what happens if it magnetically saturates?

Its current is the phone line current and I don't think it is over than a few mA
I want to use it for an ADSL line so I think that frequency is in the mega Hertz range
surely regards to its high frequency the core of the coil will be from ferrite.

 Go easy here............hooking random stuff across phone lines, can open a gigantic can of worms for you -- Phone companies don't like random add-ons.

you need supply more necessary informations, e.g. how many DC current will coils pass, what application are two coils? work frequency? dimension?
