    Hello all,

I need a little help. I want get familiar with the 8051 microcontroller and was looking around online for an evaluation board/starter kit for this purpose. I saw an evaluation board from Keil that uses the Philips P89LPC932 Microcontroller. The website states that this controller is part of the 8051 family. Here is the website: http://www.keil.com/c51/mcb900/

My question is, If I want to program this controller say in assembly language, is the instruction set the same as for the 8051??

    Thanks

Look up the datasheet for the philips microcontroller. That's what defines the assembly language needed.
