Hi all,
For my class we are to design an 8-bit ALU Logic Diagram (in HADES CAD). Before I begin I want to make sure I have an understanding of what it is comprised of. This is what is given to us:
So do I start off by creating a 1-bit ALU (in HADES I can turn this into a subdesign) and then cascading 8 of them together to create the 8-bit version? The arithmetic portion of the ALU will be comprised of full adders and input logic gates while the logic portion of the ALU will consist of the needed operations going into a mux?
Sorry if my wording is confusing but I'm a little confused myself :-/
Thanks!
(edit: first post messed up my formatting so I attached the specifications in a word document)
