Hey guys, so I'm still working on my frequency to Binary meter. I'm switching over from 7490s to 7493s in which I'm jumpering my Q outs back to my resets and my Q3 will feed into my Clock A of my next 7493 Counter......what I'm trying to figure out = my Instructor told us to try to use a latch in order for the LEDs to stay constant with the input and not flicker all over the place....I'm going to print up some data sheets, but can anyone be more elaborate on how Latches work and how you can hook them into 7447 Decoder drivers?

    Hello,

Here is an overview of the 7400 series.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_7400_series_integrated_circuits

The 7475 is a latch that can be placed between the counter and the decoder.
You have to latch the values into the latches just afther the counting is done.
When the values are in the latches you can start a new count.

    Greetings,

Get the data sheet for a 7475. It has the conditions for latching the counter data into the chip.
