Hello all, i am having a problem, i never used a 7 segment display before, i have a 2 digit 7 segment, i dont know which one it is, cathode or anode it is written CD below its surface, and i saw few data sheets of 2 digit common cathod and common cathode, but my IC have total 18 pins.. 9 pins each side.. kindly please help me in resolving my issue, please guide me how to use it.

It must have some part number markings on it somewhere.

If it does have numbers, can you please post what is written on the device?

 

I'd just get a 3V supply with a 1K resistor in series and start connecting across pins. Shouldn't take too long to figure it out.

i have applied +ve and -ve 5 volts accross all of its pins.. nothing happened

 

5V across an LED without current limiting probably killed the segment.
