Hi, what I'm looking to do is driver a 12V LED array with a microcontroller (Arduino). The output is a 5VDC digital PWM signal (40mA max) and I would need that signal to be amplified to a run the 12VDC LED with the PWM so I can dim it.

Alternatively, I could use the 5V analog out on the microcontroller to a analog-to-PWM converter and then amplify the output to 12V (or amplify them convert to PWM).

My project is I want to use an Arduino to run 12V LED lights that slowly change intensity over the course of the day to simulate sunrise and sunset.

Any ideas?

Search on google for krusduino, that should give you some pointers.
Awesome, thanks! That's a great resource. I would have to modify it a bit to work with my bulbs, or reconsider my bulb choice. This is a living room project, not an aquarium projects, so I need more flooding light.
