Hi there I am working on a large LFSR circuits (using 8 595 registers). My question is would it be possible to use 1 single 555 timer to clock all 8 595 latch/clock pins simultaneously?
Related, what do I need to look at in the chips data sheet to figure this out for myself when time isn't so congested?
Thanks,
Max

The problem is we can only guess what a 595 is. It appears to be a partial part number. A reference to a data sheet will help. This was brought up in your other thread.

The quick answer is yes, 555's are very strong on the output, but we need more info first.

apologies bill.
7HC595 serial in parallel out 8bit shift register..
OK cool, yes is a good answer :) I was trying to understand how to amplify the signal of the clock if need be and I was thinking of using an npn transistor with base being controlled by 555 output but that didn't make sense to me. Sometimes I just get lost in this whole thing, but good it sounds simple.
