I'm trying to find a circuit that can provide a time delay for a decade counter circuit I have. I have a 555 + 4017 decade counter that I want to have a time delay so that when the time runs out the circuit will shut off. You could add another 555 or a 556 as a one-shot, with 1M pot & 100 uF timing, connect output to counter clock 555 pin 4 reset. When start switch is pressed, counter circulates untill time runs out, counter stops. Need better definition of " shut off ".
