I am a UK supplier of electrical machinery.
A client in California has a 3phase 208volt supply.
I am preparing a project which includes wiring heaters in Delta.
Do I need to provide each heater at 208volt or 110volt.
We do not use Delta in UK so I am a bit unfamiliar .

We do use star and delta in the Uk, motors start up on star and the run on delta, these are used in a direct on line starters. As for your answer yes you will need to make them work on 208v.

Thnx. These heaters are ganged up into banks of three elements per phase.
Does each individual element need to be 208volts?

 

yes if each element is across two phases, then they have to work on 208V,

if they are for a single phase and neutral they are 120v.
