I see that Radio Shack has 3-leg UV LEDs. Anode, cathode, and....what? The only 3-leg LEDs I've seen/used are RGB. Their website has no documentation on it.

I suspect that the picture may be incorrect and it really has just two wires.

 

May just be a generic photo, does seem misleading though.

The shown picture has 3 legs, the "alternative view" has 2 legs.
I suspect it is a led with 2 legs.

My guess is that they used the wrong image on the web page, mixing it up with this item instead.

Okay, I feel silly for not being suspicious of the image. I thought there might be something special about UV that required a special package. But it's a biped. I'll mess with it after I get my audio oscillator built, the parts for which arrived today.
