240vac to clean low voltage dc

    Good Day All.

    This is a carry on from my Mains Transformer Current Rating post.

    Now we have a guess that the mains transformer is good for 40-50VA, I would like to use it to power my stepper motors and control more.

    I have read that for use with microcontrollers you need a good steady clean power.

    I am using a 7805CT Regulator for the power to the microcontrollers.
    Power - 220uf - 0.1uf - Regulator - 220uf - microcontrollers.

    The setup I am looking at will go something like:
    Mains - Fuse - Transformer - KBPC2504 Bridge Rectifier, This will give me around 20-25DC output.

    The question I have is do I need anything else, like Capacitors, Diodes, ect.
