    Good Day All.

This is a carry on from my Mains Transformer Current Rating post.

Now we have a guess that the mains transformer is good for 40-50VA, I would like to use it to power my stepper motors and control more.

I have read that for use with microcontrollers you need a good steady clean power.

I am using a 7805CT Regulator for the power to the microcontrollers.
    Power - 220uf - 0.1uf - Regulator - 220uf - microcontrollers.

The setup I am looking at will go something like:
Mains - Fuse - Transformer - KBPC2504 Bridge Rectifier, This will give me around 20-25DC output.

The question I have is do I need anything else, like Capacitors, Diodes, ect.

    Thanks for your time.

    Best Regards.
