Also a few posts ago, as long as Vgs(on) is between 10 V and 20 V, the FET will be at Rds (min), the equivalent of saturation. If you want the gate to see the low impedance of a conducting zener, select R2 and R2 for Vgs of 15 V or so and let the zener clip that to 12 V, something like 4.7K and 10K. If you see the zener as strictly transient/overvoltage protection, make R2 and R3 equal for a lower SMT robot load.

For an all new SMT board spin, any reason not to go with a ULN2003 for multiple channels? One component instead of 14.

Ok, probably I will use the same R2 and R3, 5V zener diode and FET that it's fully open at 5 V (already on schematic).
So that will result in 5V Ugs in all range 12-24V.

For an all new SMT board spin, any reason not to go with a ULN2003 for multiple channels? One component instead of 14.
Of course you mean that for mosfet driving, great idea.:(

...make R2 and R3 equal for a lower SMT robot load.
It will be soldered by me.:) It's just one board for Machine vision project.
