220v Single Phase

    Hello, I recently picked up a used Bridgeport milling machine for my home shop. Since I only have single phase power I found a VFD with 1 phase 220v input and 3 phase 220v output. Do I need a buck and boost transformer or can I connect my 240vac to the L1 and N terminals on the VFD?

    Without seeing the spec sheet for the VFD, no one can say for sure if it will work. I suspect it will be fine though.

    If all else fails, you can ask the people that manufactured the unit.

    I recently read an installation manual for one of those units. Excellent quality, but picky. I recommend you get the paperwork before you do something ignorant. They are too expensive to guess at what would make them work right.
