I found a similar topic but it wasn't what I was looking for. I'm obviously not looking for you to make this for me, just nudges in the right direction.

I need a circuit that when 12v is applied to it it will give 12v out after a period of 60 seconds, this will be connected to a wifi router so going from 0v to 12v as close to as if I plugged it in my self is important.

Do I need to use a relay to make the change from 0v to 12v as quick as possible?

I know how I could do this with a pic micro controller but I wanted to work out how to not rely on one.

You might try a time-delay relay.

 

Or a simple timer (like the 555) connected to either a relay or a MOSFET.
