Dear All

I want an audio amplifier IC which is having following specification, this is for making a sub-woofer system for my car audio system.

Power : 50W RMS
Supply : 12V single source

50W RMS is a voltage swing of 40V p-p into 4 ohms. A bridged amplifier will need each half to swing 20Vp-p so the amplifier must have a supply voltage of at least 25V.
A DC to DC stepup power supply is needed for this amplifier in a car.

I just remembered about the TDA1562 car amplifier IC from Philips. It operates bridged in class-H. The class-H doubles the supply voltage for loud output but not with ordinary and low output. Since the supply voltage switches then it stays cooler than if it always had the doubled voltage.
It has a rated output of 55W into 4 ohms with 0.5% distortion when its supply is 14.4V.

LM3875 is a good amplifier IC from national semiconductors it can deliver more than 50W.It sound so nice for sub-woofer..................
