I have given a project from my department. Its name is switching modulation and it is about amplitude modulation i guess. but i am not sure what to do exactly. anyone have an idea about it?

thank you for your answer i have carried out a resarch about `OOK` but in my project the instructor says that you will use the band pass filter (in modulation step) i am not wanted to demodulate the signal. in on-off keying where can i use the bandpass filter that is the point i`m confused. could you help me about it.

Hello,

In your first post you are talking about switching modulation.
In switching modulation, the signal is switched on and off.
In the paper is given that the modulation is sinusual.
This can not be done with switching modulation, but with an amplitude modulator.

I think he is talking about pulse-amplitude modulation, where the modulation is sampled into a number of pulses which have amplitudes corresponding to that of the original modulating signal at the point at which each sample occurs.

There was another person asking about this stuff some time ago,so a search pf the forum might help.

I found these links at the time:

Here are a few links:

The main information is about their use for Amplitude Modulation of Radio transmitters, but it seems the same technique is used for other stuff as well.
