phase shift across capacitors in series

Hi,

I have a doubt that might appear quite silly to some of you but its really nagging me.

We all know that the voltage across an ideal capacitor lags current by 90 deg phase. Then what about the voltage across three ideal capacitors(say with perfectly no resistance) connected in series?..will there be a 270 deg phase shift?

I am not sure about this but i think that the phase shift across each capacitor is 90 degrees as you know but i think that you must imagine the three capacitors as one small capacitor with the same phase shift as all the capacitors respond at the same time to the changing input voltage, i.e. they all have a voltage phase shift of -90 degrees with respect to the current through the circuit.
