  1. What is the shape of the AC wave?
  2. 10 Volts peak to peak, or just peak?
  3. If it is a square wave, what is the rise and fall time required?
  4. If it is a sine wave, how accurate does the waveshape need to be?

Ideally a sine wave with 10 volts RMS regulated with very little noise. The input could be 12 VDC or 115 vac 60 Hz.

10V RMS = 28.28V You will need a 30 to 35V DC power supply. You could use a power transformer, but at the frequency you have selected it won't be that practical. Basically you are wanting to make a simple inverter. IMO you will need a precision sine wave with a stable amplitude, a PWM modulator, and a full H bridge circuit. Did my description make sense to you (checking your electronics background)?

Don't aeronautics instruments have to be certified? How are you(O/P) going to get this certified? The forum does not allow automotive modification threads so I doubt that this thread will survive long. Who wants a plane to drop from the sky?

Some things are better off being bought and this would be one of them.
