Shift register

Today I discovered a schematic of a cool circuit that I designed in the early '80's at IHSTL. The downside is that I labeled a shift register with the wrong part number. This is a 16 pin, parallel in, serial out, 8 bit device. I am guessing it was a CD4000B series device because this was an automotive application, needed the higher voltage and low power consumption. The key is that this device had the DO (serial) on pin 3. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's a CD4021B/MC14021B/HEF4021B. Seach for datasheets on those part numbers.

Be aware that 4000-series CMOS ICs aren't necessarily suitable for automotive purposes, as transients up to 60v can and do occur during "load dumps", such as when high-current accessories are turned off.

Sarge,

Thanks, my Vdd and Vss as well as all inputs were protected from LD and Field decay, we tested this thoroughly, hey we were IH STL.

BTW, the "capnray" is from 30 years fighting fires, I left USAF as SSgt.
