Default batteries getting hot

hello
i build an electronic circuit and i connected it to a switch with a 4 AA battery pack

now all good but when i turn off the switch after few min the battry pack is hot as fire..

i tried to connect a capacitor but it didnt help...

any ideas ?

Show us the schematic how you did connect the things.
Without the schematic we can not help you.

What BERTUS said:

First when you turn it off, if your able, physically remove the switch entirely.

If it still heats up then your circuit is bypassing the switch somehow.

Or the switch is shorting the batteries.

yeah i think it shorting the batteries... i got 3 pins.. +,-, and the middle one goes to the circuit vdd...

how should i connect it so it wont short them ?
