Smile Detailed Information On Wind Turbine Generator

Hey guys,

Hope everyone is off to a great new year.

I'm looking for detailed information on how the generator aspect of a wind turbine works. I want to fully understand the underlying technology behind how a wind turbine's rotation creates an electric current.

If anyone has any information that would be awesome.

Thanks!

Hello,

On this page of the EDUCYPEDIA are some links on wind turbines.

Thanks Bertus.

Does anyone else have any good info on this? Diagrams or images of the generator and the current flow would be really helpful.

Thanks.

Hello,

Take a look at the attached PDF.

It again comes from a EDUCYPEDIA page.
http://www.educypedia.be/electronics/generators.htm

There are even more links at the EDUCYPEDIA.

There are also links to other energy resources.

Energy:

This is awesome guys thanks.

Quick question: Does anyone know if more electricity will be generated if the length of the coil is increased? Say you had a coil which was 10 feet long, would an equivilent magnet of 10 feet length produce more electricity than a generator from a wind turbine which is not nearly as long? Thanks.
