Relations between minterms and maxterms

Ok, I thought that if I have the following function;

f(A,B,C) = S m (0,2,4,6); Then the maxterms would be; PM(1,3,5,7).

So, the minterms that werent included in the function, they were the maxterms of the function. But, eh.. I was wrong? :< Looking at some excercises of my book it says that if;

f(A,B,C,D) = P M (3,8,12); then, S m(0, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15).

Why is that ? Why is the 8 a minterm AND a maxterm?

Can someone explain it to me? Or post a link that explains it? Please.

Thanks a lot!

This is a typing error in the book!

If you look carefully the 7 is missing, so in one case it should be seven and not 8.
