Okay a little rant....

We have a design exercise to do in uni - it is a PIC based counting circuit, which counts the number of objects passing between a light source and an LDR on a conveyor belt. We were told that there should be a circuit built from op amps to convert the analogue signal from the LDR to a digital one, so the PIC could count without using any ADC kind of stuff.

Anyway.... The group I was in started off well. We sat down, decided on the number of input/output...

I've been at uni for more than five months now.

Not once have I seen a soldering iron.

I've used a breadboard twice though.

This is engineering, not theoretical electron management. :P

So, here's the thing.

Got coursework due in on Friday.

Lots of work set, really too much set to do during the time allotted each week (seriously, not typical student excuse).

So here I am. Not too much to do now. Mainly organising it. What good is a tidy logbook? Logbooks should be messy and filled with nuggets of information. So I need to take a picture of the LDR potential divider to prove I built it. -_- urgh. Ah well.

Also, all our...

Please read the introduction post.

Thanks!

For the figure shown in figure 1.10, with Vin=30V and R1=R2=10k, find (a) the output voltage with no load attached (the ope-circuit voltage); (b) the output voltage with a 10k load (treat as a voltage divider, with R2 and R1 combined into a single resistor); (c) the Thevenin equivalent circuit; (d) the same as in part b, but using the Thevenin equivalent circuit; (e) the
