Album: Animatronic: Audio Envelope Follower for Mouth Servo Synchronization

I developed this circuit for my animatronic penguin. The servos of the mechanism are driven by a Lynxmotion SSC-32. The AAEF (Audio Amplifier and Envelope Follower) circuit has a stereo signal input from a computer and the right channel is amplified and sent to a speaker in the mouth. The left channel is sent to the audio envelope follower which converts the audio signal into a 0-4VDC signal. This output is then sent to an ADC on the SSC-32 and software drives the servo motor based on the amplitude of the 0-4VDC envelope.
