There is at least one problem with the 30+30w amp on the Talking Electronics website; the MICRO PC input is tied to +6v. Not good.

i hope you get your project going! ive built a guitar amp, distortion box, and a wah wah pedal. fun and challenging. the thing i like about about finding a guitar circuit is modifying the components to make it sound the way you like it. good luck!
