SPICE - analog circuit simulation
Proteus - analog + digital (logic and microcontroller) simulation
Matlab - can also be used to simulate circuits

communications...i dunno

One of the more widely used SPICE softwares is LTSPice from Linear Technology; quite a few members here at AAC use and recommend it. A free unrestricted download is available from here.
