Help Finding a Component

Hi all,
I am new to electronics and I bought the Electronic Book For Dummies.
I want to build the Coach Pet-ato which uses a tilt/motion sensor but for the life of me I can't find one. Has anyone played with this project or similar? I need a sensor to mount on a breadboard to activate when my pets jump on the furniture when I am not home:) Any help would be appreciated!

If you don't have a car parts place near you, you can get DEI 507Ts and 507Ms on eBay. I'd try a salvage yard first, but that's me.
