Controling an LCD with VHDL

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to go about writing VHDL code to provide a Nan Ya 24x2 LCD with a live feed from Altera UP2 board. I need to calculate tire speed with slot sensors and display this on the lcd.

Any help would be much appreciated.
